Since 2004, The Ellis School’s Asian Culture Club has been working to construct a building and a relationship with Khwahari, a girl’s school in the Herat region in Afghanistan, as well as raising awareness about Afghanistan and women’s education. This site provides information about who we are, what we believe, our past, our future, and how you can help.
With that being said, immerse yourself in the cause for Khwahari, which means sisterhood.

• Afghanistan’s extensive and growing history of conflict and warfare has caused national and cultural strife. Women have felt the impact the most, unable to receive even the most basic form of education. Change is in order.
• Education gives women the ability to be independent and free-thinking individuals in order to improve their lifestyles and women’s rights in Afghanistan, making an example for improvement around the world.
