The first ever Medieval Faire project for the Ellis 6th grade was a complete success. The day included:
a field trip to Calvary Cathedral, where students learned about both gothic architecture and the importance of the Church in Medieval Europe,
a catapult-building session, follwed by a contest of distance and accuracy,
a feast celebrating the Lord's safe return from the Crusades, including food and entertainment ,
a lawn chess match in which students played the part of living chess pieces while donning their own custom-made headpieces,
a Medieval dance enjoyed by all of the participants,
and a hotly-contested jousting tournament!
It was a full day enjoyed by all, including the parents!!
